My name is Dorothy Morgan. I want to first thank you for visiting my store. Here I will share some background about what got me started and what inspires my art.

I am a native Arizona resident. I am an artist of 30 years, first working in performing arts then as a visual artist. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Arizona State University and a Post-Bachelor’s Art Education teaching certification in Arizona. My passion & inspiration lies in nature & I am an avid hiker/explorer. I began working with photography as a therapeutic hobby in recent years then decided to share my work to a larger audience at the encouragement of friends & family.

Inspiration in Healing:

I began photographing the southwest desert during my mindfulness hiking & walking adventures throughout Arizona after battling cancer as part of recovery therapy. Bearing witness to the beauty of the fragility, strength, adversity, and resilience of southwestern landscapes imparted to me the peace & hope I needed in my healing journey.

Artistic Subject/Focus/Goal:

I specialize primarily in landscape & macro photography of the Sonoran Desert & mountain regions of Arizona focusing on native vegetation & wildlife. My photographic goal is to share the beauty of the balance between the fragile & rugged nature of southwest desert & mountains while unveiling its mystique through lens & light.
